Priv.-Doz. Dr. med. Serafeim Tsitsilonis is a specialist in foot and ankle surgery at the highly specialized center for orthopedic pathologies, Sporthopaedicum Berlin. Following his long-standing role as Executive Senior Physician and Head of the Foot and Ankle Surgery Section at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, he joined the team at Sporthopaedicum in early 2023.

Dr. Tsitsilonis is an expert in the treatment of complex pathologies and injuries of the entire foot and ankle. He offers the full range of surgical therapies, with particular focus on:

  • Disorders of the hindfoot

  • Correction of complex foot deformities

  • Minimally invasive treatment of sports injuries and cartilage lesions

A key area of expertise includes total ankle replacement, as well as joint-preserving realignment procedures of the distal lower leg and hindfoot.

Dr. Tsitsilonis is actively involved in national and international foot and ankle surgery societies, and is a frequent invited speaker and instructor at conferences and training courses. In addition to his clinical work, he remains a dedicated researcher in the fields of foot and ankle surgery and bone healing, earning multiple national and international awards for his contributions.

As a recognized expert in his field, FOCUS Gesundheit magazine has named him a Top Physician in Foot Surgery and Trauma Surgery for both 2024 and 2025.
